The Nutmeg Vermont is perfectly located for those great winter activities… downhill skiing and tubing are just 15 minutes away at Mount Snow with wonderful cross country skiing available just 15 minutes to the west of us at Prospect Mountain. Snowshoeing at Timber Creek is not to be missed and we have direct access to the VAST trail network for hundreds of miles of snowmobiling with trailer parking on the premises. And if you want a change of scene we are a 35-minute drive from Stratton Mountain Village.
Summertime Adventure
For the summer we have an in-ground, heated, salt-water pool (open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, weather permitting), 2 acres of green meadows, a beautiful brook stocked with fish, and miles of hiking trails out the back door. The nearby Harriman Reservoir offers fishing, boating, kayaking, and picnic areas. Our nearby state parks offer wonderful swimming lakes and hiking trails. The Nutmeg is also within easy driving distance of several beautiful golf courses in the Deerfield valley - The Brattleboro Country Club, Mount Snow Golf Course, and Haystack Golf Club to name a few.
Arts & Culture
While we’re all about the trees and the mountains and Vermont’s glorious fresh air, we also love our arts and culture. The Marlboro Music Festival, a world-renowned chamber music festival in its seventieth year, and certainly one of the highlights of our summer season, is just a short 15-minute drive from the inn. Mass Moca, The Clarke, Hildene, Tanglewood Music Festival… the list of events, museums, galleries, and places of interest within a 30 to 60-minute drive of The Nutmeg is endless.
